Jolanta Klarka
President
Latvian-born pianist and piano teacher with a prior corporate career in London, where she held an MBA from Durham University before returning to her passion for music. Now pursuing a Master’s in Music Education at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance while living in Lisbon with her young family, she co-founded Horizonte Musical do Tejo. She is a strong advocate for accessible music education and the benefits of early-years exposure to classical music.
Leonardo Hilsdorf
Artistic director
Leonardo is a Brazilian-Italian pianist with an international career, distinguished in major competitions and in leading concert halls across Europe, the Americas, and Brazil. Pupil of Maria João Pires, he holds a PhD in Cultural Studies and combines artistic excellence with a strong social commitment, developing projects that explore the transformative power of music in educational and therapeutic contexts.

Ricardo Bernardes
Conductor and musicologist. Of international renown and recognized as one of the leading specialists in Ibero-American Baroque music. With concerts throughout Europe and the Americas, he is the Artistic Director of the Americantiga Ensemble, founded in 1995, and of the Mateus Baroque Orchestra.

Yuki Konii
Born in Japan but raised in Singapore, Yuki Konii was principal cellist of the Singapore Youth Symphony Orchestra before moving to the UK. She obtained her MA and DPhil in Music at Oxford University and was also a postgraduate at the Royal College of Music in London. She then played briefly with various U.K. national orchestras before changing course to become an international tax consultant with a global financial services firm. Since her retirement she now focuses on her first passion, playing and teaching chamber music both as a professional and as an amateur, performing regularly in Japan and in Europe.

Andrew Readman
Andrew is a lawyer who practiced for over 20 years with a major City of London law firm. His specialism was media finance and his career was spent largely in the far east and Europe. Before becoming a lawyer Andrew read music at Oxford University and is an experienced amateur chamber music player. He is keen to create opportunities for amateur musicians to come together and to this end he is co founder and board member of Chamber Music by the Lake, a Swiss foundation which holds an annual coaching course for chamber music players.

Izabella Bray
Izabella Bray is an entrepreneur and marketing leader. Born in the U.S. to Brazilian parents, she began her career in New York media before transitioning into the technology sector. After spending five years in San Francisco, she and her family relocated to Lisbon in February 2022. In 2020 she co-founded Startup Stack, the largest discount marketplace for founders building their tech stacks, which was acquired in 2025. Today she consults part time while devoting her energy to her evolving passion for the arts, as the project leader for Horizonte Artes.

Marc Bergougnan
Marc is a French Web 2.0 entrepreneur and the founder of the international marketplaces Agriaffaires and Machineryzone, now based in Lisbon, where he is a keen supporter of music and the arts. A self-taught pianist with a deep personal passion for classical music, he brings enthusiastic backing to Horizonte Musical do Tejo, contributing to its mission of uniting amateur and professional musicians through concerts, workshops, salon recitals, and educational initiatives that enrich Portugal’s classical music landscape.

Sara Fernandes
Sara holds a master’s degree from the University of Évora in Musical Performance (Piano) and also pursued advanced musical studies at the Joseph Haydn Conservatory (Austria). She taught at the Music School of the National Conservatory and currently teaches at the Academia Musical dos Amigos das Crianças. She loves teaching and sharing with her students her great passion and joy for music and for the piano.

António Gomes
António is a surgeon and an amateur pianist. In music, he found a space for rigor and creativity, as well as for balance, both in times of health and illness. He currently serves as a member of the Administrative Board of the Academia de Amadores de Música
